Wayde Washburn, owner and counselor, has been working with individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug addictions for more than twenty-five years! His experience includes developing and providing drug prevention programs; providing individual, group and family counseling to those in need; developing and supervising addiction counseling programs; and, surveying and evaluating treatment programs across the United States.
Wayde received his Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University and his Master's Degree from Emory University. For nearly nineteen years, Wayde worked for a community behavioral health organization, with responsibilities varying from providing counseling to persons with issues with alcohol and other drugs, to directing the human resources department who worked with around 400 employees. He coordinated substance abuse programs for the multiple counties served by the organization and was responsible for drug treatment regulatory surveys conducted by the state of Georgia.
Since 2001, Wayde has been a Surveyor for CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), conducting more than 100 surveys of behavioral health organizations in the previous six years! This experience has allowed him to see how behavioral health organizations across the United States--California, Washington, Wyoming, Rhode Island, Idaho, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi, Arizona, Illinois, Michigan, Alaska, Nebraska, Iowa, Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Colorado, Minnesota, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas, New York, Hawaii, Missouri, New Mexico, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Georgia and Florida--and how they work to meet the needs of persons with behavioral health problems.
Wayde is a Certified Addiction Counselor II, through the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) and a National Certified Addiction Counselor I, through NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals. He has served several terms on the board of directors of GACA. He has developed and provided training for professionals working in the addictive disease prevention and treatment field and conducted Drug Free Workplace Training for various businesses in the local area.

Wayde provides consultation with businesses and organizations on issues regarding alcohol and other drug use and with organizations seeking or maintaining CARF accreditation.
Business Consultation: Having years of leading an organization's human resources department and working with businesses in drug free workplace issues, Wayde will work with your organization to provide professional assistance in recognizing alcohol and other drug problems in the workplace, and how to respond appropriately. Counseling individuals, training employee and supervisor groups, and consulting with management are services offered--timely and convenient for your needs!
CARF Consultation: Wayde began offering CARF consultation after frequently seeing the need for organizations having access to a qualified CARF consultant. What does "qualified CARF consultant" mean?
Perhaps most important, Wayde has worked with organizations who were not accredited after their first survey, but then received a Three Year Accreditation. Working specifically in the Administration section, the organization received one recommendation in that section!
Wayde was a key team member in planning for CARF accreditation for more than fifteen years! In fact, he was with the first community service board in the State of Georgia to become CARF accredited in 1996.
He has been a CARF Surveyor since 2001, serving in roles as program and administrative surveyor. He has surveyed organizations from the Florida Keys to the northernmost reaches of Michigan, from New England to the sunshine of California, and in the ice and snow of Alaska along with the beautiful sun and beaches of Hawaii. Usually Wayde serves as the Administrative Surveyor, and he works with large teams or he even conducts surveys as the lone surveyor for smaller organizations.
Wayde is experienced in the field. He has developed and provided training for professionals working in the addictive disease prevention and treatment field, as well as conducting Drug Free Workplace Training for various businesses. He was also a Certified Instructor for Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention under the Crisis Prevention Institute for more than twelve years!
Wayde worked in Human Resources for fourteen years in a community mental health, addictive disease and developmental disabilities organization. For more than twelve years, Wayde was a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and served as legislative chair for the local SHRM chapter for three years, which provided him the opportunity to visit Washington, DC, and participate in Capitol Hill visits with members of Congress.
Washburn Consultation Services utilizes a cadre of experienced and qualified personnel to assist organizations in CARF accreditation preparation. Particular persons, selected for your specific needs, are utilized for consulting with your organization for CARF readiness. Each organization will be assessed for the expertise required.
